Enhancing Photography With Natural Light
Welcome to the world of natural light photography! I'm Kelly Tareski from Kelly Tareski Photography, and I'm here today to talk about all things related to utilizing the stunning array of light available when creating beautiful photographs. As a professional photographer, I’ve had immense success in capturing beautiful moments using only the power of sunlight, and as someone who loves being outdoors, it’s been especially rewarding for me. Through my years honing my craft at Kelly Tareski Photography, I have developed a strong appreciation for how altering angles, shadows, hues, and depths can make an incredible difference in photos taken on my 5-acre gardens located near Nine Mile Falls that are ripe with natural lighting options during golden hours.
My World
Welcome to the world of Kelly Tareski Photography and my gorgeous five-acre garden in Nine Mile Falls! I'm Kelly, and I'm passionate about capturing the beauty of the world through my lens. But it's not just about the art of photography, it's also about the picturesque settings that I'm lucky enough to call home. My garden is my pride and joy and is constantly blooming with colorful flowers and greenery that make for the perfect backdrop to any photo shoot. Whether it's a family portrait or a couples session, my garden offers the perfect natural setting to bring out the best in people. So come on in, grab a cup of tea, and let's chat about capturing beautiful memories to last a lifetime.
Capturing the beauty of natural light in photography
Photography lovers have a deep appreciation for the beauty of natural light. The way it illuminates and highlights different subjects can bring life to a photo and captivate the viewers. Whether it's the warm hues of a sunrise or the soft glow of a sunset, natural light has the power to transform a photograph into a stunning piece of art. Capturing the essence of natural light takes skill and technique, but the end result is worth the effort. With the right composition and timing, photographers can freeze a moment in time and capture the beauty of nature's precious gift.
Taking advantage of golden hour photography
Photography is a form of storytelling, and every story is unique. One key element in taking stunning pictures is timing. That's why photographers often wait for what's called the golden hour to capture their shots. During this time, the light is soft and has a warm, golden hue, creating a perfect environment for shooting amazing photos. Golden hour photography is all about embracing the beauty of natural light, highlighting the details of your subject in a warm, captivating way. Whether you're a professional photographer or just starting out, taking advantage of the golden hour could take your photography to the next level and bring your storytelling to life.
How my gardens create unique backdrops for my photos
As a passionate photographer, I am always on the lookout for new and unique backdrops for my shots. That is why I turned to my gardens, which have become my go-to in recent years. With the right composition and framing, my flowers, plants, and trees have all played a role in creating stunning images that capture the beauty of nature. The colors, textures, and patterns that fill my gardens offer limitless possibilities for creative shots. Whether it's the soft pink petals of my rose bushes or the vibrant green leaves of my ferns, each element adds a touch of personality and depth to my photographs. I love how my gardens have become a source of inspiration, allowing me to create truly memorable images that stand out from the crowd.
Tips and tricks to use natural light like a pro
As a photographer or even just someone who loves capturing everyday moments, natural light is an excellent tool to work with. Not only does it provide an organic and authentic look to your photographs, but it's also much easier to manipulate than artificial light. However, working with natural light can be tricky, depending on the time of day, location, and weather conditions. That's why we've gathered some tips and tricks for you to use natural light like a pro. From understanding the angles of the sun to utilizing window light, we've got you covered. With these tips, you'll be able to create stunning and professional-looking photos in no time.
-
Time of Day
One of the most important tips for using natural light in photography is to pay attention to the time of day when you are shooting. The quality of light changes drastically throughout the day, so it’s important to be aware of how the light will affect your photos. Early morning and late afternoon are typically the best times for natural light photography, as this is when the sun is lower in the sky and casts softer shadows.
-
Location
Another important tip for using natural light in photography is to pay attention to your location. Different locations have different types of lighting, so it’s important to take into account how your chosen location will affect your photos. For example, open fields tend to have more even lighting than wooded areas, which can create interesting shadows and highlights on your subject.
-
Direction
Finally, it’s important to pay attention to the direction of the light when taking photos with natural light. Generally speaking, backlighting (when a subject is lit from behind) works best for silhouette shots, while side lighting (when a subject is lit from one side) creates more dramatic shadows and highlights on a subject’s face or body. It’s also important to note that direct sunlight can cause harsh shadows and blown-out highlights, so you may want to shoot in shaded areas or use diffusers if possible.
