Why Quality Equipment is Essential in Photography

Photography is not just about clicking a camera shutter and capturing visuals. It involves various aspects, including the quality of equipment used to get the desired results. Being in business for over two decades, I realized the importance of using high-quality equipment to get the perfect shot. In this blog post, I will share my experience with some of the best equipment I use at Kelly Tareski Photography, including my Nikon Z 7ii Camera, Godox Professional Lighting, Indoor Studios, and Outdoor Venues.

The Camera

First and foremost, let's discuss my Nikon Z7ii Camera. I've been a Nikon fan for as long as I can remember, and this camera is hands down the best one yet. The level of detail in each shot is remarkable, and the dynamic range is phenomenal. It's also incredibly fast, which allows me to capture candid moments that would otherwise be missed. With the 45.7 megapixel sensor, I can produce high-resolution images that are ideal for large prints or commercial purposes. I've taken this camera to weddings, portrait sessions, and events, and it has never failed to impress me.

The Lighting

In addition to my camera, I also use Godox Professional Lighting. One of my favorite things about Godox is that they are a relatively affordable professional lighting solution. The XProC TTL Wireless Flash transmitter allows me to easily control flash power and settings from my camera, making it more efficient for on-the-go shoots. Moreover, Godox produces great results with or without modifiers, which gives me the flexibility to create a wide range of lighting styles. Being versatile and reliable, Godox has become an essential part of my studio equipment.

The Studios

Speaking of the studio, I have four indoor studios, including the Grey Studio, the White Studio, the Cabin Studio, and the Apothecary Studio, which give a range of sets with varying moods. Each studio has unique features that provide a distinctive feel to the photographs that come out of them. The Grey Studio offers an urban loft feel, and the White Studio provides a chic modern touch. The Cabin Studio has a rustic cabin feel, which complements garden photos or sets with natural light, while the Apothecary Studio offers a moody and edgy vibe ideal for moody flat lays.

The Outdoor Venues

Now, let's talk about outdoor venues. I have five acres of garden and vintage outdoor venues that provide a picturesque and serene environment to capture nature-inspired shoots. These venues allow me to take breathtaking photographs of individuals and families in natural light. The garden is a perfect location for couples or families wanting an opportunity to get away or for unique occasions such as bridals, family, and senior portrait sessions. The vintage venues offer a diverse range of possibilities, such as rustic gardens and quiet farm-like scenes. If you're looking to make your outdoor session special and whimsical, then the vintage venues are ideal. The outdoor venues provide a wonderful mix of wood, steel, and garden greens that can be used to create a one-of-a-kind photo session.

That's a Wrap!

Investing in high-quality equipment has been essential for my success as a professional photographer. My Nikon Z 7ii Camera, Godox Professional Lighting, Indoor Studios, and Outdoor Venues are some of the valuable pieces that have helped me advance my business over the years.
