When Should I Take Maternity Photos?
Let's Roll!
Hey there! I'm Kelly from Kelly Tareski Photography, and today we are going to talk about one of the most special moments in a woman's life - pregnancy! Becoming a mother is a blessing in itself, and I feel honored to capture these precious moments for my clients. However, many women often wonder when is the perfect time to take maternity photos. Well, fret not because I am here to guide you through the different trimesters of pregnancy and explain the pros and cons of each. So, let's get started!
First Trimester (Weeks 1-12):
The first trimester is the initial phase of pregnancy, and though it is indeed a special time, it can be challenging for most women. However, if you're someone who loves to document every phase of your pregnancy, then this is the perfect time to get clicked! The first trimester is perfect for intimate shots of you and your partner and displaying the happiness of a new journey of life that you guys are about to take. However, it is important to keep in mind that during this phase, you might experience morning sickness, fatigue, and bloating, and it may reflect in your pictures. So, I suggest taking photographs when you feel your best.
Second Trimester (Weeks 13-27):
The second trimester is often called the "golden period" of pregnancy. This is the time when you start feeling much better and full of energy. During this time, most pregnant women prefer to take their maternity photos, and who am I to disagree? Your baby bump becomes more noticeable, and you still have the mobility of not feeling too heavy. You have that beautiful pregnancy glow and can wear flowy dresses or tighter outfits to accentuate your bump. So, take advantage of this period and capture that beautiful moment!
Third Trimester (Weeks 28-40):
The third trimester is when your belly grows larger and you start to feel heavier. You might experience swollen feet and ankles, backaches, and exhaustion. However, this is also the time when you start feeling excited and anxious to meet your little one, which makes it the perfect time to photograph your beautiful baby bump. You can capture the excitement and anticipation in your pictures. However, keep in mind that due to your increased weight and discomfort, it may take more effort to move around or pose for pictures. So, plan accordingly and take breaks when needed.
That's a Wrap!
When it comes to taking maternity photos, there is no right or wrong time to do it. It's all about how you feel and what you want to capture. Each trimester has its benefits and challenges, and I hope this blog has helped you decide which time is perfect for you to take your maternity pictures. Remember, pregnancy is a beautiful and enchanting journey, and I would be honored to capture the special moments for you. So, grab your partner, put on some makeup, and let's create beautiful memories that you'll cherish forever! Contact me today and set up a consultation. Let's explore all your options.
