You have seen my work or have been referred to me by someone who is familiar with my work.  You make initial contact with me interested in booking a session.

I will reply to your initial inquiry with basic info and a couple questions to get more details from you.  Also, I will provide you with a link to my website’s investment page which will answer basic questions for you just in case you have not visited my website yet.

Let’s talk:  In this day and age it is easier to handle details via email or text.  However, I prefer to actually talk with you.  It gives me an opportunity to get to know you a little better as well as a sense of what your goals are for your session.   You have my undivided attention to ask questions and get immediate answers.  If you are ready to book your session, we can pick a date and time and I will tentatively pencil you in.

I require a $100 retainer (non-refundable) to secure your date and time on my schedule.  I will send you a PayPal invoice via email for that retainer.  You are penciled in on my schedule for 3 days, if I have not received your retainer after 3 days I will remove you and open up that date and time for another client.  Once your retainer is received the date and time you selected is reserved exclusively for you.

You have the option of paying your full session fee ($300) at once, instead of just your retainer.  Otherwise the balance of your session fee ($200) is due in full on the day of your session via cash or check.

Pre-Session consult:  This is optional, but I highly recommend taking the time.  We can do this over the phone or in person at my venue.  We will discuss wardrobe, transitions, props and venue options.  This also gives you an opportunity to share ideas which is very helpful for me in planning a fun and successful session for you.  We will want to plan your pre-session consultation 10-14 days before your session.

The day before your session: Double check that you have packed/gathered all your wardrobe changes along with any accessories.  Also, if we talked about any props that you are bringing, make sure those get loaded in your car.  Ladies, you will also want to make sure you are bringing basic make-up for any touch-ups that may be necessary.  Gentlemen, at the very least bring chap stick.  Please make sure you get a goodnight’s sleep.

The day of your session:  Before you pull out of your driveway, double check one more time that you have everything you need for your session.  Make sure that you give yourself plenty of time so you arrive on time.  If you arrive 30 minutes late, that is 30 minutes lost.

When you arrive, we will take care of any paperwork and/or payments due first, then we will have a quick review of wardrobe and organize them in the order of transitions to help us maximize our shooting time together.

Next we will spend anywhere from 1 – 1 1/2 hours shooting.  This varies with every client and what we are wanting to capture.  Rest assured we will have tons of fun, giggles and bloopers.  I am confident I will be able to get the shoots to put together your proofing gallery for your reveal session.

I always have water bottles and variety of snacks available, please feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks, especially if there are any allergy concerns.  You will want to stay hydrated and keep your tummy from hunger pains.  If you are uncomfortable, it will show in your photos.

It’s a wrap:  2-hours may seem like a long time when you scheduled your session, but it will go a lot quicker than you think.  Before, you leave, we will schedule your “Reveal Session”, typically within 7-14 days after your shoot.  I will give you a detailed price guide and a checklist to help you start planning on what wall art, albums and gift prints you want to order.  You will also have an opportunity to see product samples and ask questions regarding products before you leave.

Reveal Session:  If you have done your homework, this session typically will only take about an hour.  All parties who are going to make the purchasing decision must be at the reveal session. I will show you 20-25 fully edited images from your session that I have carefully selected and help you with your selections for printed products.

I will place your order immediately, I can always add to it, but I will not be able to remove items from your order.

Your order will typically take 2 weeks to come in.  Sometimes longer, depending on industry busy season and larger wall art items.

Once your order has arrived, I will inspect it and give you a call, so you can make plans to pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included with my session fee?

Session fees include the time, talent, years of experience and training of your photographer as well as all post production work for culling and editing.  On average for every hour I shoot, I will spend 3-4 hours editing the selected images for your gallery reveal session.  It also includes full use of my venue, props and gowns.

With a print release does that mean I own the images?

No, the print release I will provide you with if you have purchased digital files allows you to print those images for personal use only.  The exception to this rule is if you have purchased images for commercial use, then I will provide you with a print release for commercial use.  Kelly Tareski Photography retains all copyrights to the images.  Your release does not include permission to modify, sell or enter the images in any contests without my written consent.

How many pictures do I get?

This is totally in your control.  I will show you a gallery of proofs at your reveal session and you can order as many as you want in the sizes you want. On average, my clients spend $400 -$600 at their reveal session on print products.

How many digital files do I get?

With every image you choose for print products, I will include a digital file of that image for social sharing that includes my professional watermark.  These files are sized specifically for social sharing on the web (ie: Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, Twitter, etc.) and cannot be printed nor do you have permission is attempt to print them.  Kelly Tareski Photography retains all copyrights to these digital files and they may not be modified in anyway with filters, overlays, text, etc.  They may be shared as I deliver them to you only and my professional watermark must be visible and not cropped or altered in anyway.

You may purchase printable digital files with a print release for personal or commercial use.

Do I get to see all the pictures and choose?

You put your trust in me when you booked your session based on my testimonials, images you’ve seen of my work and referrals.  I ask that you continue to trust me and know that I will pick the best shots from your session to share with you at the reveal.  These images will reflect you in the best way possible, my unique style and come in a wonderful variety.

When is the best time of day to schedule my session?

Because I specialize in natural light if prefer to shoot during the “golden hours” of the day.  Which is just after sunrise and just before sunset.  I understand that not everyone is available during those special lighting moments.  So the next best thing is to schedule early to mid morning or late afternoon..

What happens if it rains or snows?

I watch the weather closely, especially during traditional wet seasons.  A little sprinkle or light snow shower will not stop your session as scheduled.  However, If I feel a weather event is inevitable  that will disrupt your session I will do my best to reschedule your session as quickly as possible.  If a severe weather event happens during your session and we need to stop in the middle, we will schedule another session as quickly as possible at no additional cost to complete your photo session.  Our neck of the woods has some traditional wet seasons, and I recommend you plan ahead by bringing proper attire to stay warm in between setups and an umbrella to help you stay dry and not cause havoc on your hairstyle..

What if I want my session at a different location?

I am happy to go to another location that you have selected, depending on the distance to your location there may be a travel fee.

Can I take pictures at or during the session?

Well for obvious reason the quick answer is no. I will on occasion allow a behind the scene cell phone pic for social sharing and Kelly Tareski Photography must be tagged on the image posted.

What should I/we wear?

I can consult with you on a more personal level prior to your session.  In the meantime, here are a few things to keep in mind. Keep it classic, so you don’t “date” your images, you’ll want to keep them timeless.  Don’t try to “match”, just coordinate.  Avoid stripes and bold prints.  Dress in layers when possible, location shoots don’t always have a place to change your clothes other than your car.  Most importantly, wear clothes that you feel good in and are comfortable.  You will be more relaxed during your session if you are comfortable.
